Why alignment matters
A patio door can move and still be out of alignment. If the panel sits too high, too low or at an angle, the lock may miss the keeper, the weather seal may leak, and the rollers may wear unevenly. This clip documents the movement check that follows adjustment.
What a technician checks
- Consistent clearance as the panel travels across the opening.
- Stable roller contact without hopping or scraping.
- Square contact with the closing jamb and correct latch height.
- Even pressure against the weather seals.
Roller adjustment can solve many alignment problems, but damaged tracks, worn roller assemblies or a shifted frame may require additional repair. The correct fix depends on where the resistance or misalignment begins.
